I can honestly say I had a better weekend than anyone you know. I spent three days with three special kids. Every time I blink my eyes I see one of them smiling from ear to ear. 200" deer are great, Hunts booked solid for the year are great, seeing those kids smile is PRICELESS. Along with Brigid, the kids parents and numerous volunteers we hunted and fished all weekend. We have roughly "ten thousand" pictures being developed tomorrow and I will be posting pictures and stories of the kids soon. If Brigid does not blackmail me with an incriminating picture of myself I will even post a picture of her kissing something because she lost a bet. There is only one downfall to this weekend. I have hunts booked solid for the rest of the year and I know "none" of them will be more enjoyable. |

RB, my weekend came pretty close to being as enjoyable as yours was. I had the pleasure of spending the day helping out on the first special hunt sponsored by the Whitetail Deer Farmers of Ohio. Ryan Keifer spent the entire day picking out just the right buck before taking a bruiser that ended up scoring 144 6/8BC. It was such a joy being around Ryan and several family members and seeing the pride they felt as Ryan worked hard on his hunt. I don't know who was the proudest; Ryan, his father Tim or grandpa Dave. I have also never been thanked, on behalf of the Association, for something so much in my entire life. Funny thing was, I felt like thanking them for the opportunity to spend such an enjoyable day with them. |

RB and Steve, I feel exactly the same regarding what happens during these special kids hunts. The hardest thing for me is always saying good bye to them. What makes it easier on me is staying in contact with them after the hunt. What touched my heart and was the most rewarding at this hunt was watching a beautiful 8 year old girl paralyzed from the neck down, lift her left hand up three times. UNBELIEVABLE!! I have it on film and it was a miracle! Her mother had tears in her eyes watching her; it was breath taking! RB, I just want you to know, that I got home at 3:00 this morning and I wanted Pete to know how much I missed him, so without brushing my teeth or washing my face, I just puckered up and laid one on him. [If he only knew what I kissed before him……..but you know the old saying, “Never kiss and tell”!] Brigid O’Donoghue

RB, Brigid told me you immediately became a "Step-uncle" to the three children. It's so nice to see families joining together developing these unique friendships. I hope some day to get the chance to attend one of these special hunts, but right now Brigid is keeping me on my toes here in the office. Norma Normington

Nice to hear things worked out for the kids hunts RB. Sounds like the kids had a good time. Can't wait to see those pictures. Good luck with the rest of the season. |

I and several others just lost our jobs here in WI as a meat cutter for a large chain store across the usa. It's been hard on me and my family since the only profession I know is cutting meat and have done so since I was 16 years old. I stopped by to see my sister last night and she let me watched the video footage of Rodneys hunts. I jsut want you all to know what you are doing is great and this entire country needs to see what you are doing to change people's lives. It made me realize how fortunate I really am. Pat O'Donoghue
