During the last couple weeks, we were lucky enough to host 2 special hunts for some special people. The first young man named Corey has been battling many health problems to numerous to mention. His outlook was incredible and his family was a lot of fun. He took this red stag after a couple days of hunting. It was quite a hunt! Way to go Corey!
Our second hunter was Mike Gentry. Mike lost his eyesight in an accident last Easter. He has a rifle with an incredible laser sight and some great friends that have practiced with him enough to make us all jealous of the way he shoots. The stag was taken with one good shot right through the vitals at about 100 yards. He died instantly. It was an incredible hunt!
I'd like to thank all the volunteers that helped us with these hunts. The Central Missouri Chapter of SCI has a special "Safari Wish" program that allows us all to participate in this great experience. Corey and Mike and all these special people are true role models and inspirations to all of us. Thanks guys!! Good job!! And of course....Good Hunting... - Sam |

Hey Sam, Looks like you have really made a difference to people in need. Exposing these special hunters to the excitement and beauty of the sport of deer and elk hunting is a tremendous public service. Their faces tell the whole story and it is easy to see how much these hunts mean to you personally as well. SCI is certainly a wonderful prohunting group and they are always ready to get on board with good causes such as hunts for challenged Americans. God bless you and what you do! Brigid O'Donoghue |

Thanks Brigid! We all get so wrapped up in our day to day problems and battles that we sometimes forget what is important and where our priorities should be. One of these hunts ALWAYS puts my mind back on the right track and my priorities in the right order. I am truly thankful for these hunts and the time I get to spend with these very special people! Keep up your great work and keep posting your great stories. The silent majority is behind you and there are many many many of us who read your stories and are very grateful for what you do. God Bless and good hunting... - Sam |

Hey Sam and Mitch, There are so many good causes and never enough time to catch up and get everything done. It's a great industry with a wonderful story to be told, I believe the Cervid Foundation is going to develop a promotional video and media kit to help tell that story. Hunts such as these are part of that great story that needs to be told; public awareness is critical to understanding our industry and giving it the opportunity to thrive and grow the way it should. God bless you! Brigid O’Donoghue |
