We held our 4th/ annual fishing event for eight families at Rend Lake Resort in southern IL. The weather was as warm as the hospitality and the fishing was excellent thanks to the expertise of the pro catfish fishermen. There was a mini fishing tournament amongst the young anglers and Corbin caught a 3.8 lb catfish with proangler Jeff Dodd. The excitement was contagious and everyone went at the fishing with contagious vigor. After fishing Shawn Harris and I made our own catch using a giant inner-tube behind the boat for bait. As expected there was no shortage of volunteers waiting to take the bait; the ride felt refreshing in the 90 degree heat. Everybody is a winner in an event like this; Shawn made awards and metals for each participant. A hand signed picture of all the children is on its way to Mr. John Reilly, owner of Rend Lake Resort in appreciation of his continued involvement and generosity. We would like to thank Ken Freeman and all the proanglers, The Shawn Harris Family, Bass Pro Shops, volunteers, donors/sponsors and Rend Lake Staff for all they did to better the lives of these special young anglers and their families. Wow!!! It looks like those kids were having all kinds of fun!!!!!!!! How did Ken Freeman get to hang out with those fishing cuties????? What a lucky guy! Jeff Dodd and Brian..... you belong on the cover of Field and Stream!!!Hey Corbin...Nice fish "roommate"!!! As a matter of fact ,there are fish everywhere!! You pro anglers are the best!!
