Are whitetail deer considered livestock by the USDA or any state agencies? |

The Louisiana Dept of Agriculture considers WT Deer as Alternative Livestock. Mississippi considers them as wildlife. |

You will need to check with each individual state about their rules, regulations and laws, it varies a lot! Captive or not has a large play but is not an absolute. As far as the USDA it depends on which division you are talking with. To answer your question. Both State & Federal – some do and some don’t. Kyle |
